“When my wife and I planned the renovation of our house and the creation of a garden we faced a problem. The garden was little more than a mown area of grass leading to the fields beyond and we knew next to nothing about gardening. 

 

We were introduced to Jamie. He was clearly expert and incredibly knowledgeable. That said he never talked down to us. He not only listened to us but encouraged us to explain how we as complete amateurs thought our new garden should work to achieve our objectives. We had a pretty good idea of how the hard landscaping should be laid out but no idea at all of the materials to use and even less of a sensible planting plan. We did not want a scheme which would create more ongoing work for us in our already fairly busy lives.

 

He took on board our comments but developed them and thankfully discarded those which wouldn’t work. He directed us to suppliers of superb materials for hard landscaping which we would have struggled to find left to our devices. 

 

The planting plan is miraculous. It produces some colour from around late March to October and the plants and grasses themselves produce year round structure and interest blending seamlessly into the surrounding land and structures.All this in a way which avoids making us slaves to the garden. Even we can manage the minimal maintenance required albeit with a little ongoing guidance from Jamie. Twelve months after planting the garden looks as if it has been in place forever.

 

In short, Jamie has changed the way in which we enjoy our property. We now actually have a garden which we can manage rather than a sterile open area. He has undoubtedly saved us from ourselves and from the expensive mistakes we would inevitably have made if left to our own devices. I cannot recommend him highly enough.”
