JAMIE LANGLANDS | GARDEN DESIGNER
Langlands Studio is led by award-winning garden designer Jamie Langlands. With over 15 years' experience in landscape and garden design, Jamie combines an artist's eye with a deep horticultural understanding to create naturalistic, characterful gardens.
Based in Oxfordshire and working across Oxford, the Cotswolds and further afield, Jamie works personally with private clients from the first conversation through to the finished garden.
His approach is rooted in the character of each place: its architecture, landscape, ecology and the people who will live there. The result is gardens that feel individual, established and connected to their surroundings.

AN ARTISTS EYE
With a background in Fine Art, Jamie approaches each garden as a carefully composed space.
Proportion, rhythm, balance, texture and atmosphere all shape the design process. Each view is considered, planting and materials are arranged with intention, and every element is designed to contribute to the character of the wider garden.
The result is a space that feels natural and effortless, while being underpinned by a strong visual structure.
HORTICULTURAL KNOWLEDGE
Beautiful gardens begin with a genuine understanding of plants.
Jamie’s horticultural training and extensive planting experience inform every design, from the selection of individual species to the creation of layered plant communities that develop and improve over time.
Planting is chosen not only for seasonal interest, but also for its suitability to the site, resilience to a changing climate and value to wildlife.
The aim is to create gardens that are rich, immersive and ecologically valuable, with plants that thrive rather than simply survive.
PERSONALLY LED
Every project is personally led by Jamie, from the initial conversation and first sketches through to the development of the final design.
This ensures that the original vision remains clear and consistent throughout the process, while giving clients a direct and collaborative relationship with their designer.
Where specialist knowledge is required, Jamie works alongside a trusted network of landscapers, engineers, craftspeople and other professionals to help bring the garden to life.
MENTORING & SPEAKING
Alongside his design work, Jamie is regularly invited to speak about garden design, planting and the relationship between gardens and the wider landscape.
He has worked with the RHS as a mentor to emerging garden designers and has spoken at RHS shows, industry events and horticultural societies, sharing an approach shaped by both design and horticulture.
